I went out to see the Chinese New Year parade in town on Sunday. The crowds weren't too bad; nothing anywhere near like the day the F1 came to town and I lost it a bit so we ended up in Gordon's working our way through a whole bottle of port.
The parade wasn't very noisy at all, but lots of pretty costumes and the lions and dragons were fabulously fluffy and furry. Giant, blow-up cartoon characters were a bit random, but as they rounded the back of Leicester Square they were 'kissing' kids at the front of the crowd which just looked so surreal...
You'd reckon that fireworks in daylight would be pretty much just noise and smoke. And there was a lot of noise and a lot of smoke, but they were so bright! I even managed to get a few photos which showed that they were very much visible in the daylight.
