Oh my God! Why do parents of infants and toddlers have their tiny, fragile children mutilated? I'm talking about ear piercing here. What say has the child in it? The dangers of infection must be vastly increased at that age. Plus, isn't there a danger that the earrings may come out and the (at that kind of age, orally fixated) child end up choking on them? And, I may be wrong, I thought there was a minimum age below which it is illegal to carry out piercings on people.
