Teenagers now have free travel on the buses and trams; on production of a valid Oyster card[0]. The incentive being on good behaviour as if they cause trouble on buses/trams they lose their free travel. So, it's only enforcable as a good behaviour encouragement if the rules are applied ("Your Child Oyster photocard may be withdrawn if you do not follow our Behaviour Code or commit a crime on one of our vehicles."). However, I have very very rarely seen a child produce or be asked for their Oyster card or any other ticket when they get on a bus. And they still behave like little shits.
Meanwhile TfL are crowing what a massive success this scheme is.
[0] - though interestingly... "A photocard is not needed for:
...
* Children under 14 to travel free on buses and trams. (Please note, 11-15 year olds must have a Child Oyster photocard to travel free when using the tram at Wimbledon)"
My god this programme is evil (transcript here). The main thrust is that women are being selfish and choosing to have fun and, god forbid, a career before a child. What a crock of shit. How many divorces are there? How many women just haven't met the right man to have a child with? Christ! It has to be a massive proportion of the number of women who are childless in their 30s.
"Mummy, where does food come from?"
| According to the BBC, thousands turned up to see Farmer Sharp's sheep being driven through the City yesterday. There was a group of quite annoying vegetarian/animal rights loons yelling things like "EVIL!" and "THIS IS DISGUSTING!" as the sheep went past, but they utterly failed to stop the sheep from being driven to market. Farmer Sharp, by all accounts, is rather caring of his sheep and employs methods certified by the Organic Standard/Soil Association, so the loons really ought to be protesting (if they really feel they have to protest at all) against people who are treating animals badly rather than looking stupid at an event like this. |
Sunday was hot. Very. And we moved a load of furniture and boxes from J's flat into storage. And it was hot. But it all went rather smoothly and nicely.
However, I now have a practically new (<1 year old) frost free fridge/freezer that we don't need any more. It's taking up space. Anybody need looking for a new one at the moment want a barely second hand one on the cheap?
So I bought a couple of t-shirts from New Look today...
They were cheap! (and quite thick cotton and fitted, so...)
We have one home exchanged and two with draft contracts. Things are looking up. And the weather is lovely too.
