Psion launched their new palmtop, the Series 5 at the beginning of July 1997

Despite some early problems with availability and a little run-in with the BBC TV programme 'Watchdog', the Series 5 seems to be doing quite nicely. Following the massive success of the Series 3a and later the 3c... it seems to be the perfect solution for the person who wants to be able to do light computing on the move and doesn't want to pay for a laptop or live with the associated troubles of laptops: large, heavy, rubbish battery life, slow operating system etc. etc.
